Thanks for all your continued love, support, and rock and roll! I'm back in the states working on my new project Electric Dana with Miles Lindsay.

Happy New Year fellow music-lovers!
I have made my way back to what some (even me sometimes) would call my home. The crazy, bustling city of New York. I am overjoyed to see familiar faces in all my favorite clubs and haunts!
Not much has changed in my two-year absence. I guess, though, if anything, things have just seasoned and matured like delicious wine.
Bleecker Street. Kenny, Kelly, all my favorite Cowgirls behind the bar and Rio behind the mackie board at The Bitter End. Robbie Gil and Patrick Firth still shamelessly bring life's and love's reflections to the surface on the L.E.S. at Rockwood Music Hall. Sora An - part of my late band Girls Don't Cry (see her myspace page to see a rare recording of our hit song "Brain Explosion") at The Delancey with her band The Love Brigade....aaah, and of course Dave and the gang from KOLKER...Paul LaFevbre, Nik Schuhbeck (Holding Back Entirely), and Matt Lindsey. My men. My blues boys. Lord I have missed them.
I am recording a new single and will be shooting a video for it, to be released early March! So thrilled for this.
Stay tuned...and keep a close watch. I may wind up in Tanzania next weaving baskets or something. With a name like Hannah Fairlight...you just never know. xx

Wowee. Back in the States touring around with drummer and guitarist Miles Lindsay Cochane of The Big Dizzy from Oz. We have driven from Iowa to Indiana to Wisconsin to Iowa again, to Kansas and we are now in TEXAS! The mighty music center of Austin. We're getting our set together for an explosive first show, venue and time TBA (Stubb's or Beerland). We're documenting and recording as we go, now with a faux studio set up in my Auntie's library, so stay tuned!!
Post Script - Saw Girl in a Coma Friday night and totally got adrenilized. Damn those chicks can rock. Soooo inspired. Kudos to Agent Ribbons as well.

Home? Ha! I'm not sure where that is anymore. One thing's for sure: I'm a small-town girl at heart. I'm going back to Iowa in 6 weeks! Wowee!
I'll be touring Texas, Louisiana, Tennessee and many places in between. I look forward to exploring home terrain that I haven't seen in far too long.
Sorry I've been MIA for a bit. I've been planning for my big home coming-going.
If you've missed me up to this point...or even if you haven't.. come see me play!
The Boatshed gig will be a big one on Wednesday August 24th, with the beautiful guitar work and John-Mayeresque songwriting of Matt Dewar as well as the slam-you-hard dirty blues rock of The Big Dizzy.
Also, I'm working out a big goodbye gig in the city at the rootin' tootin' blues rock venue The Vanguard, with our friends Stuart Brady, Miles Cochrane, and Digby Robinson from the Big Dizzy, as well as world-reknown blues guitarist and songwriter Greg Nunan! But I have yet to finalize a date with them. Let the Vanguard know you want me to play by emailing vanguard@centuryvenues.com.au! Wed Sept 28th is the date I'm zeroing in on.
Thanks guys! I hope to see you at the Boatshed! xx

Hurray! Thanks to Microwave Jenny duo Brendon and Tessa for having me along. It was a super fun night. I pulled a bit of a Black Keys playing with drummer Miles Cochrane from blues rock band Digz .
This venue was cool to play - really classy right there on enmore road across from the theater - holds about 300 and you can order dinner and sit facing the raised stage chowing down by candlelight, watching live music.
"Microwave" was awesome, intertwining up-beat pop and a full band (keys, drums, bass!) with near-tear-jerking quiet duo tunes like "When You Don't Call". Tight harmonies, catchy hooks. These guys know their stuff!
Thanks again guys, and to all that came down! xx hf

Thursday's gonna be fun! I'm doing a showcase at the beautiful Enmore Rd venue NOTES in Newtown, alongside bluesy jazzy sensation Ricky Bloomfield and the dynamic pop duo Microwave Jenny!
Sure to be an entertaining night - and you can have dinner too! Dinner and three musical acts...what better night can you imagine?!

Hey guys! Still heaps of time to buy your tickets for March 3rd show at NOTES in Newtown! Click to get to the site!!
Also, two shows on this week - super casual and super fun. If your week is getting to you and work is driving you nuts I highly recommend you come down and we keep each other company. I'm playing:
Wed Feb 10 at The Sugar Lounge on The Steyne in Manly
start around 9 pm (or come early for other amazing groovin music including Bad Feeling Woman)
Thurs Feb 11 at Clovelly Hotel in Easter Sydney (right on the ocean! amazing view...amazing hang spot)
start around 9:30 - I'm headlining! - ALWAYS a good vibe out there, definitely worth the trek. I meet new friends every time I play there, and shows always morph and have surprises and guest musicians and general crazy fun.
Also, stay tuned for news on recording...getting geared up for my first few sessions and will have stuff available to you so so soon!
Thanks for reading, listening, supporting, and loving music. xx hf
Wow, thanks to everyone who made it down this past Sunday and Wednesday for Australia Day!
The Monkey Bar was a new venue for me...cruisy bar in Balmain. Staff was cool and room was SO intimate. Shared the bill with Eve Goonan (Evy G) - a talented vocalist. Finally a beautiful, softly lit room with people arched around...and quiet! Long set made for a nice arch to my show too. Thanks everyone, it felt good to play some softer deeper tunes to an attentive audience.
Australia Day 2011 at the Boaty! Not only was it my first Australia Day but also my 10th (at least!) anniversary playing at the Manly Boatshed. Given I've played there a few times...and thinking everyone would be out-partied by the time I went on stage from the day's festivities (including me?), I was a bit skeptical. But low and behold, I rocked up with my gear and inside 20 minutes the place was thronged and wild! I played a pretty high-energy set, and in my Aussie togs to boot. Thanks for coming out and dancing, pretty people! Aussie Aussie Aussie Oy Oy Oy. x

3-2-11
Hello beauties of the world. I've just caught word I'm playing an exciting show Thurs March 3rd at NOTES in Newtown, alongside the delicious Microwave Jenny and great Ricky Bloomfield! Soooo pumped. If you haven't been to Notes yet, trust me, it's worth the trek and definitely worth the show. Right near the Enmore, a real, stylish, spacious venue you can chill out, eat some dinner, and watch an amazing show. I can't wait to play with these guys for you! xx Hannah F

Hey guys, I'm honing my energies and collaborating with amazing composer/producer Daniel Denholm to record my first EP. Set to begin in about two weeks time. I'm pumped...lots of new tunes, lots of sultry blues and nature pouring into my latest writing, taking a beautiful and more mature shape.
Check my new demo recordings including brand new song "Love To Pin Me Down", prelude to the debut album!
12-12-10
Hey lads and lasses, thanks heaps for coming out to the Sands Busking on the Beach Finals competition. I left empty-handed...guess I didn't play enough pop covers...but I had an absolute ball playing for ya'll. What a great thing to play to such a full room. Thanks for coming and filling out all those ballots. Live original music rocks....Northern Beaches, Fairlight's living here! Watch out! I'm only just getting started.
10-12-10
I went off my nut and bought a blues junior amp. Finally able to do my sweet lovin' strat the justice it deserves! I am frothing and spilling with love..I just don't know what to do with myself, except play friggin' every waking moment. A huge shout out to Mall Music and Warringah Mall for hooking a sister up big style.
29-8-10
My first gig in Sydney! Paddy Maguire's, as part of Songwriter's Live put on my Keith Armitage.
8-9-10
Haha, the date today is "8-9-10"! Love it.
I've been booking lots with Keith Armitage and Songwriter's Live spaces - The Old Manly Boatshed, Clovelly Hotel, and Paddy Maguire's in the city. Be sure to check your facebook invites and phones for texts about shows! xxx
19-7-10
I moved! Sadly I left my wonderful blues boys KOLKER, all the folks at The Bitter End, and my friends and musicians alike behind me for a little while as I venture into the wild blue. I'm traveling to Australia for awhile for inspiration, writing, recording, living, exploring, life, and love. Whatever challenges my new home holds, I know they will change and shape my music greatly. This is the big leap I need right now. If I'm not in touch with my own heart, how can I be expected to touch others'? xx
